Introduction

Welcome to Pro Wrestling: Revolution! PW:R is fantasy pro wrestling league loosely based on the real world of professional wrestling. Use this page to familiarize yourself with how things work here in PW:R. Some of which, should you be a veteran of efeds, will be familiar. There are aspects of PW:R that are much different then even the longest tenured veteran will not have encountered.

PW:R is not here to reinvent the wheel, but simply be an alternative look at real wrestling companies and possibly even some efeds. The rules and regulations that follow are simply here to keep things fair and by no means is a perfect system. Through trial and error the rules will be modified to keep things from sprialing out of control. We are always open to suggestions to make the rules better for all those involved. So go on, read the rules and if PW:Revolution seems to be the efed for you, use the applications provided to submit your character(s). We hope to see you soon!

The Application Process

So you are thinking about joining PW:R, before you do take a minute to familiarize yourself with the landscape. The first thing you will undoubtedly notice is there is NO Randy Orton, Undertaker or Triple HHH. There is a reason for this, PW:Revolution is an original character only efed. If you simply must have your character be The Game, The Legend Killer or The Phenom, search google for a fed that better suits your needs. In other words, do not waste our time here sending in an application with your favorite WWE or TNA wrestler. Any applications like these will most certainly end up in the virtural circular file folder.

Now lets assume you have an original character(s) in mind. Stop. Before you go about filling out the application, do everyone two favors. Make sure your character's signature moves or holds are not currently being used by someone else. This will save us from returning your application to be corrected. Second, make sure your characters entrance theme is not in use by someone else and that is not being currently used by WWE or in some form in TNA.

The reason for asking this upfront is, signature moves and entrances themes are main aspects of one's character. One instantly knows when The Gong hits, The Undertaker is one his way out. You also know that if HHH hits the pedigree, a match for intents and purposes is over, because that is his signature move. You don't see CM Punk using the pedigree. Bottom line, entrance themes and signature moves are identifying characteristics of a wrestler. Be unique and your character(s) will be unique.

One final thing about the signature moves, be real about it. A cruiserweight trying to pull off a power move against a bigger opponent is not gonna happen. Same token, a big man trying to do cruiserweight style moves is asking for your big man to get hurt badly. Think of moves that are approiate for their size.

Through the process of filling out the form, you will notice how there is a minimum and a maximum limit to the size of your character. Again, like everything else here, there is a good reason for that. We don't mind the occiassional super heavyweight or midget, we just prefer to see characters that are not giants or midgets. We think it it's more fun that way, just our opinion.

One final thing about the app, fill everything out in the manner requested. Any applications that look as if they were put together in five minutes or less will immediately find their way to the deleted folders.

Once we've received the application, give us sometime to look it over and discuss amongst ourselves how your character(s) might fit in. There is no exact timeframe for this, but if you have not heard from us within a week, contact us. Either way, we will let you know if you've been accepted or put on a waiting list or even have been denied. Chances are, unless you are so horribly bad that it would take a miracle of biblical size to overcome that badness, we will at the least put you on a waiting list.

You've Been Approved! Now What?

Once you have been approved, it is probably best to go and sign up for a free account on the PW:R official boards. You will not be considered for a match until you have done this and posted once. It can't be stressed enough that if you want to be considered for a match, sign up for an account and begin roleplaying. If you have done neither, and after three attempts to get you to do so, you will have to go through the application process again..after thirty days.

So once again assuming you have done as asked, when can you expect to be on card? This varies depending on when you have completed everything asked of you. However, if there is a special card happening, do not expect to be part of that. These cards are for those have been in the fed thirty days prior to it taking place. In the event you have come in during this time, you will have to wait until the next scheduled weekly card to debut.

Also, there will not be any prolonged build up to your debut. One, maybe two weeks at best. Anything longer than that and it is asking for trouble. You can ask, but it's very likely gonna be a waste of time. After seven years of running a fed, I have been burned by one too many incoming handlers using the prolonged debut scenario and then mysteriously disappearing.

Finally do not expect to be involved in a feud right off the bat. We will all need time to adjust to your character(s) and figure out whom to best match you up against. Figure on just being booked for matches and should something develop, you will be the first know.

When Do I Post?

The simple answer is, when you are scheduled for a match and whenever you feel like it. That said, there is an expectation to adhere to. Once you have been booked for a match, it is proper form to post within forty-eight hours of that being made public. Waiting to the last minute to put out your first match will not be tolerated unless you are one of the long time players of any fed that I have run and have such, made arrangements with me. In those cases, those players have informed me of their busy schedules and I have worked out an agreement.

Furthermore do not ask to be put on one of these agreements, unless you are a tenured player. If an agreement is gonna come about it, it will come from me and only because I feel it's warranted.

Cards and Schedule

PW:R holds a weekly event every Saturday night and it's known as Unleashed. That means all posts, angles, anything for Unleashed must be done by Saturday Night. What time Saturday Night, will normally be 11:59pm Eastern Time. Sometimes this might be 11:59am Eastern Time or 11:59pm Eastern Time Friday Night before Unleashed.

Also, Saturday Night is not set in stone for Unleashed either. Depending one what MY schedule is, Unleashed could happen Friday, Saturday, Sunday or really any day of the week. All attempts are made to have it happen on the same day every week. However, life does not always work that way and we must adjust for the unexpected. It is asked everyone just be patient with that.

On occasion, two weeks might go by between weekly shows. That is again depending on MY schedule. I am not some young stud with no social life. I am (at the time this is being written) a thirty year old young stud, married with no social life. Most of the core people here are socially busy as well. If this is something that bothers you then perhaps PW:R is not for you. There are plenty of feds out there with owners that have no life.

What About Pay Per Views?

What about them? Does PW:R look like WWE or TNA to you? Do you think simply because there is a touring schedule on the site, that means..”PWR is global sensation like WWE, WOOT!”? We do ppvs or special events, when I feel it is needed. There is no set timeframe when we do them, nor are they done on a whim either. The only pay per view style event, you the player, can expect, is Undisputed. Undisputed happens the first week in December.

Now for the sake of argument, and so you know the deal about what is expected for ppvs, not just Undisputed, read on.

PPV or any special event will take place on Sundays. You will generally have a week to ten days to roleplay for these events. Everything from posts, to angle submissions, strategies, whatever must be in Sunday Afternoon. The exact time will vary, but generally be around 1:59pm Eastern Time.

When Can I Expect A Card To Appear On The Site?

About the same time an email arrives in your inbox telling you it is on the site. Seriously, shows will posted when they have met my expectations. By all means I want to see all shows posted in a timely fashion. The goal is actually within forty eight hours and more often than not, they will get posted in the frame. Do not be surprised if they might be late at times, depending on my schedule. Again, I am not one of those owners that have 18 hours a day to devote to this game. I do what I can, in the time I have. Everyone that I consider to be the core players of the fed, know this and understand this.

With all that said, every possible effort will be made to get each and every show out on time, every week.

Are There Any Rewards, Gifts, or Things I Can Win?

What, my everlasting gratitude and promise to not make your character wear a diaper to the ring is not enough for a reward or gift?

Yes, there is three things foremost attainable depending on how well you do here. PW:R has three championships. Each championship as a set of rules that are to be followed to the letter. Hey, you wanted rewards, does not mean I have to make it easy. IF you do not like it, I can arrange that diaper to be worn..yeah I thought so.

PW:Revolution World Heavyweight Championship

This is the top title in the fed. It means you have become better than everyone else and are to be worshiped a the roleplaying wrestling god that you. Do not let that get to your head, as while winning it may have been easy for you, keeping it will not be so.

The PW:R World Champion will be expected to defend the title 2 times a month and if in any month there is a special event or ppv, tack on a 3 title defense to the schedule. However, in the interest of not overexposing the champion, the World Championship will at most be defended at a special event or ppv, four times in a year. With one of the defenses being a mandatory one at Undisupted.

This means, if PW:R holds 8 ppv/special events a year the World Champion only has to defend in half of them. The Champion can defend more than that, but has the right to refuse any challenges long has he or she has met the required amount. That said, PW:R's creative team has the right to refuse and challenge, at anytime, for any reason. Including the amusement of screwing with the champion or challenger just for the hell of it.

Now if said champion does not meet the requirements at anytime, for any reason, said person will be forced to vacate the title. In the event said reason is a valid one, the previous champion will be allowed to challenge for the title immediately upon being available to do so. This rule will supercede the requirements placed on the champion defense schedule. Therefore, it could mean an extra title defense. Though all attempts will be made to simply include it in the defense schedule as it is at this time.

PW:Revolution World Tag Team Championships

This is the top tag team title in the fed. It means you have become better than everyone else and are to be worshiped a the roleplaying wrestling god that you. Do not let that get to your head, as while winning it may have been easy for you, keeping it will not be so.

Though all attempts will be made to simply include it in the defense schedule as it is at this time.

PW:Revolution Evolution Championship

This is a secondary singles title in the fed. It means you are the second best person in the fed, not quite godly, but close to being so. Again, do not let that go to your yead, as winning this title and keeping it is not as easy as it sounds.

This division is unlike the World Championship division, as there are special rules put into place.

All non title matches in this division have a rope break rule, which is three. In title matches, the champion gets an advantage by having seven rope breaks. Once all rope breaks have been used up, a hold can't be broken by entering the ropes in any fashion.

IF at anytime a wrestler refuses to break on the count of five, they will automatically have their entire breaks depleted immediately. Meaning, if they still have three and have their opponent in a figure four, the opponent reaches the ropes and the aggressor keeps the hold on despite a five count, they lose their rope breaks. Also, in that situation, the one who was in the figure four will not lose their rope break.

If this happens in a title match, a dq will automatically happen and the champion will lose the title . The Evolution Championship is the only championship in PW:R that allows a title to change hands on a dq in every title match.

If an opponent is knocked to the outside or knocked down in the ring, they have a ten count to get back to their feet or into the ring if they are outside. If they do not make the ten count, the match ends.

If a title match is occuring and the champion is the one knocked down or out of the ring, and does not make the ten count, the match ends the title will change hands. The Evolution Championship is the only title in PW:R that can change hands on a knockout, in or out of the ring.

The championship can change hands on a pinfall, tap out, knock out or disqualification. The knock out is the only way the title can change hands if the champion is outside of the ring. IF the champion intentionally keeps himself out of the ring for the duration of the ten count this will be seen as a forfeit and therefore, the title will changes hands.

In a standard Evolution Division match, a dq victory happens after three public warnings. If the it is a title match, as stated previously, the title will change hands. Reasons for a public warning could be closed fists, disobeying a direct order, pushing or shoving the official, using the ropes to ones advantage, eye poking, low blow, intentionally throwing someone over the top rope to the floor to cause harm and anything else, at the discretion of the official.

Usage of an illegal weapon will automatically result in a disqualification and should the dq go against a champion defending the title, the title will change hands.

What Are Some Other Rules For Matches?

Generally speaking, a standard non Evolution Division Match will have the rules we all know. Unless already stated before hand.

What Are Some Speciality Matches PW:R Uses?

Aside from the Evolution division, PW:R will not overuse any speciality match. Meaning, a speciality match will only be used if and when it is deemed necessary. That said, at the time of this writing, there are some speciality matches that will NOT be used.

Triple Threat/Triangle Match

Anything On A Pole Match

A Reverse Ladder Match

Scaffold Match

Anarchy In The Asylum

Tai Pai Death Matches

Any kind of Death Match

Anything envolving the use of an explosive device or fire.

Last Man Standing/I Quit/Falls Count Anywhere/No Holds Barred

Also, we will try our best to not schedule speciality matches after they have been recently done from a real company. For the simple reason that it could be seen as PW:R trying to copy a real fed.

PW:R will also not use a Cell Cage similar to Hell in A Cell. That is a WWE match and is off limits. PW:R will use an roofed cage, but it will not surround the ring as HIAC Match would do. PW:R will use a Royal Rumble type match, however it is known as Last Man Standing and it's a real test of endurance. Typically running an hour and half, with the final 2 men then competing in a standard match.

Finally this is just a short list of matches we will not intend to do. That does mean a situation won't arise where we might have to consider it. However, it is felt those matches are overexposed and/or unrealistic.

Is There Anything I Should Never Do?

Yes there are a few things one should never do that could result in a warning, suspension or even termination. They are mostly common sense things, hence the reason for strict rules being applied to them.

Never use another handler's character in a roleplay without their permission. That said, there are limits to which one can use that person. You will use that other character in a manner approiate manner or else you won't be allowed to use anyone's character, regardless if it is alright with the handler.

You are not allowed to make out of character comments in character. Meaning, when you do a roleplay, you do so in your character's words, not yours. IF it is found you are commenting on stuff that may have gone down on the OOC board our behind the scenes, action will be taken.

Furthermore, you will not refer to the competition in a roleplay. No WWE, TNA, WCW, ECW, etc references will be tolerated. PW:R exists in an alternative universe where WWE, TNA, ECW, WCW, etc, did not or do not exist. Also, unless it's become part of the PW:R universe and such has been approved by me, there is to be no reference to a past efed you have been involved with. The core players here have been involved in various feds, those feds have been pulled into the universe. They have also been here for sometime and as a reward, I have allowed their past to become part of the world. Get some tenure here and I probably will allow it for you as well.

Also, if it is illegal in the real world, it is illegal in this world too. If your character kills, rapes, steals, does drugs, etc, there will be consequences. If a rp is found that shows the character has killed someone purposely, steals purposely, does drugs on purpose, I will immediately delete the post and your character will be removed from the fed and the story will be he was busted by the cops.

Don't no show a card. Granted this sometimes happens for reasons we can't expect. However, if there is even the slightest chance you might now be able to post for a scheduled match, let me know. I will not tolerate no shows. You get three chances. First no show show results in a warning, second a two week suspension and the third will result in your immediate termination. I bust my ass to write out shows, plan stuff, etc. I am not gonna let all that to waste when I come to your match and find you never posted. Further more, all no shows will be treated to an automatic squash by your opponent. This could be five seconds to ten minutes.

Sometimes you might get clued on leading decision on your match. Don't just assume this will end up being the result. Nothing is set in stone. However, if you do think it is and just phone it in. not only will it be set into stone, I will go out of my way to make your character(s) look poorly. Never assume, always rp for the win.

Excessive bitching, moaning or complaining will result in only one thing. Your immediate removal. From time to time, I will screw up. To error is human, as they say. I expect to be called on it when I do. That does not give you the right to give me the riot act over it. Plead your case in respectful manner or keep your trap shut. I am married, if want a fight I will go to my wife. If I want a headache, I will go to my wife. Bottom line, I am the boss. What I say goes. If you don't like it, I suggest running your own fed then. Where then you can be the boss and have full say on what goes and what does not.

By no means is this a complete list, as I am sure there are things I have forgotten. Overtime, the rules will be adjusted to reflect situations that arise.

What Are Some Consequences I Will Face For Breaking The Rules?

You could receive anything from a warning to a outright being fired. It all depends on the situation and circumstances. In all honesty, I am a very fair and forgiving person. It will take a lot to get a termination from this place. That said, don't test that and think you will get away with it.

In the event, I do fire you, know this. I reserve the right to use your character how I see fit. Yes, I do .Most times, it will be simply finishing out an angle. Piss me off on the way out and I will have all sorts of fun.

Anything Else I Need To Know?

Somethings you just have to learn by going through the motions. There is perhaps one final rule to play by here. At the end of the day, we are playing in a fictional world based off a form of entertainment that is worked. None of this truly means anything nor should it. It's a game, bottom line. It's meant to provide a form of escapism and fun. Have fun, do not let anything here become personal.

Now everything I have written here is how I want things to be at the time of the writing. At anytime, for any reason, I reserve the right to modify this section how I see fit. I will try to alert everyone to a rules change, but I am not required to so.

Now if you have not already done so, go fill out that application!
